Senior Mining Engineer

Description: Phu Bia Mining is hiring a Senior Mining Engineer to lead all technical underground mining engineering activities at the Ban Houayxai Silver–Gold Operation, Xaisomboun Province. Residential roster: 9 days on, 5 days off. Competitive salary and benefits package. Reporting to the Mine Superintendent, the role is accountable for mine planning, scheduling, stope and development design, ground support, ventilation, drill and blast, backfill, dewatering and geotechnical engineering across the underground operation, and acts as the primary technical authority for underground mine engineering. Responsibilities include: - Lead and own medium and short term mine planning and scheduling, including level extraction plans, stope notes and 13 week rolling plans - Lead mine development and production design and oversee implementation, providing technical direction and sign-off - Lead and represent mine engineering within the project management team - Own and direct drill and blast design and optimisation - Own and direct the design and management of underground mine services infrastructure: power reticulation, compressed air, materials handling and logistics - Own and direct ventilation design - Own and direct underground dewatering and water management - Design and optimise stope extraction sequences and methods Requirements: - Degree in Mining Engineering and/or a related field - Extensive experience as a senior engineer in an underground base metal mine - Proficiency in mining software such as Deswik CAD, Deswik Sched, Deswik SO, MineSched, Surpac - Proven short and medium term mine planning experience in an underground mine - Strong commitment to training and supporting Lao national employees - Unwavering safety focus About the company: Phu Bia Mining Limited is a Lao-registered company, 90% owned by PanAust Limited and 10% by the Government of Laos.
