National Consultant for Child Protection in Emergency – UNICEF Lao PDR (9 months)

Description: UNICEF Lao PDR is recruiting a National Consultant for Child Protection in Emergency, Child Protection Section, Vientiane. Contract duration: 9 months. Working arrangement: home based with trips. Purpose: provide technical support to strengthen child protection preparedness, response and recovery for children and families in disaster- and climate-vulnerable communities in Oudomxay, Savannakhet and Saravan provinces, as part of the UNICEF-supported "Disaster Risk Reduction for the Most Vulnerable Children" initiative. Minimum requirements: - Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Social Sciences, Community Development, Humanitarian Studies or a related field. - At least 3 years of professional experience in child protection, social welfare, community-based protection or humanitarian programming. - Demonstrated experience in child protection in emergencies, disaster risk reduction, psychological first aid and safeguarding. - Experience in capacity building, training, coaching and mentoring of the social service workforce and communities. - Strong coordination, communication and report-writing skills. - Fluency in Lao and English. - Experience with UNICEF, UN agencies or government counterparts is an asset.
