Driver (G-2, fixed-term) – UNICEF, Vientiane

Description: UNICEF in Vientiane, Lao PDR, is looking for an experienced Lao national to fill the post of Driver (fixed-term appointment), GS2 level, based in the UNICEF Country Office in Vientiane. Purpose and key functions: - Provide reliable and safe driving services, in compliance with local traffic rules and UNICEF protocols. - Show professionalism, discretion, integrity, adaptability and protocol awareness; support administrative tasks during non-driving periods. - Key accountabilities: safe and reliable driving; routine vehicle care, maintenance and readiness; use of digital tools and tracking systems; trip documentation and reporting; communication and emergency readiness; support to office operations during idle periods. Minimum requirements: - Education: secondary education, a valid driver's license and knowledge of local driving rules and regulations. - Experience: at least two years as a driver in an international organization, embassy or the UN system, with a safe driving record. - Skills: driver's license and safe driving record; vehicle maintenance experience; processing of official documents and administration; knowledge of local roads and defensive driving. - Languages: fluent Lao and intermediate English. Desirable: motorcycle driving; experience in airport protocol and customs procedures; international organization experience; knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language.
