Reporting to the Geotech and Hydro Superintendent, you will provide Geotechnical Engineering and Strata control support to the Underground Mining Team while collecting interpreting and acting on geotechnical data from mapping and logging activities. You will be proficient in geotechnical mapping and geotechnical data collection, mine design software such as GEOVIA Surpac, and other Geotechnical software. Your responsibilities will include: Identify the early onset of local instability and make recommendations for immediate action to limit the effects of instability, i.e. basic underground strata control. Undertake daily mapping of the surface decline, interpret mapping data, and incorporate the data into the Geotechnical Model for BHX. Conduct ongoing review of ground support performance recommending changes as required to achieve economic long-term stability of the decline. Participate in all required risk assessments and provide guidance as a content matter expert for underground geotechnical risk. Geotechnicaly log drill core from the underground project and enter logging results into the site database. Conduct QA/QC of underground support products and product installations. Ensure support consumable stock levels are monitored and provide forecasts to ensure sufficient support consumables are available for the mining team. Participating in planning to ensure geotechnical considerations are fully incorporated into weekly and monthly mine plans. Providing or contributing to underground mine designs for a portal, decline, exploration drill drive, and ground support systems in support of the BHX Deeps Project in a timely delivered Advance planning of required ground support based on design ground conditions Work cooperatively with Contractors, BHX Mine production, Drill operation, Mine Geology, Civil engineering, Mine Engineering, Mine Survey, Environmental, and consultancy personnel regularly to ensure efficient project management and implementation Take the initiative in continuously searching for and implementing operational improvements in mining operations justified by quality-supporting analysis Implement key improvements projects derive from the Quarterly Goals/Game of Quarters initiative Ensure high-quality documentation and reporting of all underground geotechnical activities. Development of underground ground support budgets and regular forecast updates. To be successful in this role, you will require: Degree in Mining, Geotechnical or Civil Engineering Extensive site-based operational expertise and experience in SE Asia are highly desirable Minimum of 5+ years experience in a similar role Proficient user of MS Office software (Excel, Word, Project) Effective communicator able to demonstrate skills with senior executive managers and site-based personnel Excellent organizational and planning skills with an ability to multitask to meet agreed deadlines. Reporting to the Maintenance superintendent, you will provide the vision, leadership and management for the Heavy mining, and Ancillary assets at the Phu Kham and Ban Houayxai Underground Operations - The Senior mechanical fitter will ensure the effective and efficient leadership of personnel, management of equipment and infrastructure. The Senior UG mechanical fitter is responsible for achieving business safety, production, and cost targets through the effective implementation of operational and maintenance strategies. Working closely with all departments, particularly PKM and BHX UG Mining Operations, the role ensures operational objectives are delivered safely, efficiently, and in the best interests of the business. The Senior UG mechanical fitter will also drive the succession planning and development of Lao personnel to meet organisational objectives. In collaboration with the PBM Maintenance Manager, the Superintendent will develop and implement maintenance strategies that maximise equipment reliability and cost efficiency through best-practice preventive and predictive maintenance. The role leads maintenance planning, scheduling, performance monitoring, and continuous improvement to achieve business targets. The Senior mechanical fitter is responsible for the provision of the following functions: BHX Underground Maintenance at BHX Operations (Mobile, Fixed, Infrastructure) LCT Underground Maintenance at PKM Operations (Mobile, Fixed, Infrastructure) Governance, ensuring compliance to PanAust policies, standards and procedures, in particular the position ensures compliance to PanAust financial DAM and business code of conduct. The role will ensure adherence to system commonality and best use of capital and company resources achieving lowest per unit operating cost in line with the business model. Lead and responsible for PBM UG Maintenance team for Mobile, Fixed and Infrastructure maintenance aspects in line with scope for PBM owner the maintenance of decline electrical, ventilation and dewatering pumps to ensure systems working safely and effectively. Ensure compliance with PBM safety standards, isolation procedures, and maintenance practices across LCT and BHX operations. Develop and implement maintenance, resourcing, and organisational strategies that maximise equipment availability, reliability, and cost efficiency. Oversee contractor maintenance performance, ensuring contractual KPIs, equipment reliability, and quality standards are achieved. Establish, monitor, and report maintenance KPIs, budgets, and asset performance metrics. Build strong relationships with contractors, OEMs, and service providers to support operational performance. Promote preventative and predictive maintenance, contamination control, effective fleet management systems, and high-quality maintenance reporting. Underground Maintenance Oversight Support contractor for the development and implementation of underground maintenance strategies, including FMEA, CMMS/SAP, spare parts management, and reliability improvement programs. Provide technical leadership for troubleshooting, root cause analysis, inspections, and maintenance of PBM-owned underground infrastructure (Decline/Tunnel LV/HV electrical systems, ventilation and dewatering pumps) and contractor-operated mobile equipment and maintenance services in accordance with PBM standards. Ensure contractor compliance with PBM safety, quality, and contractual requirements while facilitating knowledge transfer from open pit to underground operations. Liaise with OEMs to resolve technical issues and improve equipment performance. Asset Management Develop and implement asset management strategies aligned with PanAust standards to optimise asset life, reliability, utilisation, and maintenance costs. Establish maintenance tactics covering planning, scheduling, condition monitoring, inventory management, and maintenance reporting. Monitor asset performance, optimise spare parts management, and support life-of-mine asset planning and lifecycle cost analysis. Contribute to business planning, asset strategy development, and continuous improvement across the PanAust Asset Management network. Maintenance Planning & Reliability Support contractors in planning and scheduling maintenance activities to maximise equipment availability and minimise downtime. Ensure effective use of SAP, maintenance planning systems, shutdown planning, and critical spare management. Promote reliability engineering through condition monitoring, RCA, RCM, FMEA, and non-destructive testing to improve asset performance and reduce failures. Continuous Improvement Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on defect elimination, maintenance efficiency, cost reduction, and equipment reliability. Promote innovation, data-driven decision making, and the adoption of smart maintenance technologies. Ensure maintenance systems, documentation, reporting, audits, and corrective actions are completed to a high standard and support sustainable business improvement. To be successful in this role, you will require: 5–10+ years' maintenance experience in the mining industry. At least 5 years in a senior maintenance leadership role Demonstrated experience Asset Management, Reliability Engineering, or Maintenance Management as well as supervising maintenance teams in mining or heavy industry. Significant underground mining maintenance experience (mobile, fixed plant and infrastructure). Experience managing contractor maintenance models and service contracts.
