International Consultant – School Readiness Assessment System Framework and Roadmap (UNICEF, Vientiane)

Description: UNICEF Lao PDR is looking for an International Consultant to give technical support to the Ministry of Education and Sports (MoES) in developing a conceptual framework and roadmap for a school readiness assessment system. It builds on MoES's existing School Readiness Competencies for children aged 5 to under 6 years (one year before primary grade one). Minimum requirements: - Master's degree in early childhood education, child development, education, education assessment or a relevant field (relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree). - At least 8 years of professional experience in a relevant field, such as early childhood development or education, or educational measurement and assessment. Experience in the education sector in Laos or Southeast Asia is a strong asset. - Knowledge and experience in developing early childhood education or child development assessments, assessment systems and roadmaps. Knowledge of Lao PDR's education sector and ECE policies is a strong asset. - Fluent English required. Knowledge of Lao or Thai is a strong asset. - Prior work experience with UNICEF or another UN or international organization is an asset.
