About The Role As a Technician, Technical Services, you play a vital role in ensuring the reliability and performance of heavy diesel vehicles, generators, and equipment for DKSH's clients in Laos. What You Will Deliver Deliver reliable repairs and maintenance of generators, heavy diesel vehicles, and equipment, ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime for customers. Diagnose and troubleshoot diesel engine issues with precision, applying reconditioning and engine-rebuilding expertise to restore full operational capability. Provide first-class technical service to customers by delivering timely and effective solutions that strengthen client trust and satisfaction. Support a diverse portfolio of engine brands represented and distributed by DKSH Laos, applying diagnostic expertise across multiple engine platforms. Uphold full compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) policies, procedures, and legal requirements, and escalate safety concerns or incidents to the supervisor promptly. Maintain accurate and complete documentation, including service worksheets, timesheets, warranty claims, quality assurance forms, and business system entries. Administrative duties and coordination tasks as required. What You Bring Certificate in mechanics and/or electrical engineering from a technical school, community college, or equivalent is appreciated. At least 2 to 3 years of post-apprenticeship experience as a Mechanic, with practical exposure to heavy diesel products and equipment. Demonstrated experience in servicing and maintaining heavy diesel products; familiarity with Cummins engines is an advantage. Qualified in mechanical trades as a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic; candidates with a light vehicle mechanic qualification are also welcome to apply. Strong working knowledge of electrical engineering principles relating to heavy equipment, machinery, and Internet of Things (IoT) technology. Reporting to the Maintenance superintendent, you will provide the vision, leadership and management for the Heavy mining, and Ancillary assets at the Phu Kham and Ban Houayxai Underground Operations - The Senior mechanical fitter will ensure the effective and efficient leadership of personnel, management of equipment and infrastructure. The Senior UG mechanical fitter is responsible for achieving business safety, production, and cost targets through the effective implementation of operational and maintenance strategies. Working closely with all departments, particularly PKM and BHX UG Mining Operations, the role ensures operational objectives are delivered safely, efficiently, and in the best interests of the business. The Senior UG mechanical fitter will also drive the succession planning and development of Lao personnel to meet organisational objectives. In collaboration with the PBM Maintenance Manager, the Superintendent will develop and implement maintenance strategies that maximise equipment reliability and cost efficiency through best-practice preventive and predictive maintenance. The role leads maintenance planning, scheduling, performance monitoring, and continuous improvement to achieve business targets. The Senior mechanical fitter is responsible for the provision of the following functions: BHX Underground Maintenance at BHX Operations (Mobile, Fixed, Infrastructure) LCT Underground Maintenance at PKM Operations (Mobile, Fixed, Infrastructure) Governance, ensuring compliance to PanAust policies, standards and procedures, in particular the position ensures compliance to PanAust financial DAM and business code of conduct. Underground Maintenance Oversight Support contractor for the development and implementation of underground maintenance strategies, including FMEA, CMMS/SAP, spare parts management, and reliability improvement programs. Provide technical leadership for troubleshooting, root cause analysis, inspections, and maintenance of PBM-owned underground infrastructure (Decline/Tunnel LV/HV electrical systems, ventilation and dewatering pumps) and contractor-operated mobile equipment and maintenance services in accordance with PBM standards. Ensure contractor compliance with PBM safety, quality, and contractual requirements while facilitating knowledge transfer from open pit to underground operations. Liaise with OEMs to resolve technical issues and improve equipment performance. Asset Management Develop and implement asset management strategies aligned with PanAust standards to optimise asset life, reliability, utilisation, and maintenance costs. Establish maintenance tactics covering planning, scheduling, condition monitoring, inventory management, and maintenance reporting. Monitor asset performance, optimise spare parts management, and support life-of-mine asset planning and lifecycle cost analysis. Contribute to business planning, asset strategy development, and continuous improvement across the PanAust Asset Management network. Maintenance Planning & Reliability Support contractors in planning and scheduling maintenance activities to maximise equipment availability and minimise downtime. Ensure effective use of SAP, maintenance planning systems, shutdown planning, and critical spare management. Promote reliability engineering through condition monitoring, RCA, RCM, FMEA, and non-destructive testing to improve asset performance and reduce failures. Continuous Improvement Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on defect elimination, maintenance efficiency, cost reduction, and equipment reliability. Promote innovation, data-driven decision making, and the adoption of smart maintenance technologies. Ensure maintenance systems, documentation, reporting, audits, and corrective actions are completed to a high standard and support sustainable business improvement. To be successful in this role, you will require: 5–10+ years' maintenance experience in the mining industry. At least 5 years in a senior maintenance leadership role Demonstrated experience Asset Management, Reliability Engineering, or Maintenance Management as well as supervising maintenance teams in mining or heavy industry. Significant underground mining maintenance experience (mobile, fixed plant and infrastructure). Experience managing contractor maintenance models and service contracts. Position Overview The Specialist will contribute to and lead environmental assessment, management, monitoring and compliance assignments, including ESIA/ESMMP, environmental monitoring, waste and circular economy initiatives, water resources, biodiversity, climate resilience, GIS and related technical services. Candidates are not expected to specialize across all service areas. Project Leadership, Reporting & QA/QC Independently manage medium to large environmental projects or lead major technical workstreams from inception to completion with minimal supervision. Reporting to Superintendent – Training & Safety, the role of the Technical Advisor – Processing Training & Safety is responsible for providing technical leadership and Subject Matter Expert support to strengthen and modernise Processing training, Permit to Work (PTW) and energy isolation systems. The role will work closely with Processing, Maintenance and HSE teams to develop competency-based training frameworks, upgrade legacy procedures into practical Safe Work Instructions, support IsoBuilder integration, and build the capability of Processing trainers and operational personnel. The position will also support workforce readiness for future Processing expansion and drive consistent application of training, competency and safety standards in the field. Key Responsibilities: Support the ongoing improvement to Processing training systems and competency frameworks, ensuring they reflect real operational risk and field requirements Review and update technical training materials and work instructions to improve clarity and practicality for use in the field Support improvements to Permit to Work, isolation and control of work systems, including the use of digital tools and practical field applications Contribute to the design and development of structured training pathways for operators, trainers and frontline supervisors Work with site trainers and operational leaders to improve the quality and consistency of training delivery and assessment outcomes Support the implementation of competency assurance practices, including field-based verification and practical assessment approaches Collaborate with Processing, Maintenance and SHE teams to support effective training and safe work practices for high-risk activities Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that improve safety performance, operational discipline and workforce capability Qualifications, Skills and Experience: Diploma or tertiary qualification in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related technical discipline; a bachelor’s degree is desirable. Formal training and assessment qualification (e.g. Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent) Minimum 10 years’ experience in mineral processing operations or technical training roles within complex processing environments Strong practical understanding of high-risk processing operations and control of work systems, including Permit to Work and energy isolation (LOTOTO) Demonstrated experience in developing or improving competency frameworks, training systems, or operational standards in a processing environment Strong ability to interpret and apply technical documentation such as P&IDs, process descriptions and operating procedures Proven capability in coaching, mentoring and developing operational trainers or frontline supervisors Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills across operational and technical teams Experience in complex processing circuits such as POX, SX/EW or oxygen plants is highly regarded International or expatriate site experience in developing-country operations will be an advantage An attractive salary package, including performance-based incentives and other benefits, are on offer for this role.
