Reporting to the Superintendent – Open Pit Mine Planning, the Senior Drill and Blast Engineer is responsible for leading and optimizing drilling and blasting activities. While liaising with Operations, Geology, Mine Planning and Survey, the Senior Drill and Blast Engineer will champion safety within the department to provide drill and blast designs that can be safely executed, supplying the required broken stocks to achieve production targets. Special focus on continuous improvement and training and mentoring junior engineers will be a key part of this scope of work. Key Responsibilities Include: Ensuring that the organisation’s Health and Safety standard are effective implemented within the work group on a manner consistent with the standard set of Laos and LXML Identifying opportunities and implementing new process to improve mine operational efficiency and productivity in the area of Drill & Blast Supporting short – term schedule 4 weeks to 3 months to mine operation so that required tonnes, grades and cost are achieved within the quarterly forecast Providing interface with the Environmental Department to ensure that all mining activities comply with LXML Environment standards Work cooperatively with Mine Operation Centre, Mining Operation, Drill and Blast Operation, Geology, Geotech, Survey, Civil, Environment, Community and consultancy personal on a regular basis to ensure efficient mining Ensuring timely delivery of Drill and Blast plans to Mine Operation and contract partners to ensure production continuity Effectively monitoring contactor Drill and Blast QA&QC. Complete project work as required Experience, Skills and Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering or related field 7 years working within a mining environment Fluent knowledge of the mine planning & design process Detailed knowledge of pit operation cycle Knowledge and hands on experience with open pit blasting products Drill and Blast experience in selective mining projects Fluent user of Vulcan Drill and Blast modules and ShotPlus. Deswik software experience will be highly regarded. Texcel and Split Desktop can be an advantage Successful track record training and mentoring junior engineers Experience working closely with mining operations teams in a site-based environment Experience working in wet or tropical operating conditions is an advantage Clear and practical communication skills when engaging with frontline supervisors A valid driver’s license An attractive salary package, including performance-based incentives and other benefits is on offer for this role. In support of this growth, we are looking for a Technical Advisor – Processing Training & Safety join our team to deliver on our growth plans and be a part of this exciting future. Reporting to Superintendent – Training & Safety, the role of the Technical Advisor – Processing Training & Safety is responsible for providing technical leadership and Subject Matter Expert support to strengthen and modernise Processing training, Permit to Work (PTW) and energy isolation systems. The role will work closely with Processing, Maintenance and HSE teams to develop competency-based training frameworks, upgrade legacy procedures into practical Safe Work Instructions, support IsoBuilder integration, and build the capability of Processing trainers and operational personnel. The position will also support workforce readiness for future Processing expansion and drive consistent application of training, competency and safety standards in the field. Key Responsibilities: Support the ongoing improvement to Processing training systems and competency frameworks, ensuring they reflect real operational risk and field requirements Review and update technical training materials and work instructions to improve clarity and practicality for use in the field Support improvements to Permit to Work, isolation and control of work systems, including the use of digital tools and practical field applications Contribute to the design and development of structured training pathways for operators, trainers and frontline supervisors Work with site trainers and operational leaders to improve the quality and consistency of training delivery and assessment outcomes Support the implementation of competency assurance practices, including field-based verification and practical assessment approaches Collaborate with Processing, Maintenance and SHE teams to support effective training and safe work practices for high-risk activities Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that improve safety performance, operational discipline and workforce capability Qualifications, Skills and Experience: Diploma or tertiary qualification in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related technical discipline; a bachelor’s degree is desirable. Formal training and assessment qualification (e.g. Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent) Minimum 10 years’ experience in mineral processing operations or technical training roles within complex processing environments Strong practical understanding of high-risk processing operations and control of work systems, including Permit to Work and energy isolation (LOTOTO) Demonstrated experience in developing or improving competency frameworks, training systems, or operational standards in a processing environment Strong ability to interpret and apply technical documentation such as P&IDs, process descriptions and operating procedures Proven capability in coaching, mentoring and developing operational trainers or frontline supervisors Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills across operational and technical teams Experience in complex processing circuits such as POX, SX/EW or oxygen plants is highly regarded International or expatriate site experience in developing-country operations will be an advantage An attractive salary package, including performance-based incentives and other benefits, are on offer for this role.
